Omics분야의 새로운 분야로 metabolomics에 대한 관심이 최근 높아지고 있습니다. Metabolomics의 활용의 예로는 바이오마커 발굴과 약물작용기전의 해명 및 발효 공정의 정리작업 등 적용 범위가 점점 광범위 해지고 있습니다.
각각의 대사체는 그 대사체 만의 화학적 성질을 가지고 있으며, 한번에 세포에 존재하는 수백가지에 달하는 대사체의 반응을 파악하기는 쉽지 않다고 여겨져 왔습니다. 하지만 2001년 일본 게이오 대학의 Soga교수에 의해 개발된 CE-MS (Capillary Electrophoresis-Mass Spectrometry)에 의해 대사체를 전체적으로 분석할 수 있게 되었습니다.
현재 대사체 분석 시장은 점점 증가하고 있으며 일본을 포함한 미국 및 유럽 등 전세계에 걸쳐서 주목을 받고 있습니다. 이에 따라, 영인프런티어는 일본의 대사체분석 전문 기업인 Human Metabolome Technologies와 협력하여 국내 연구진들에게도 CE-MS를 기반으로 한 대사체분석 서비스를 제공하고자 합니다.
이번 세미나에서 HMT는 기초부터 응용까지의 대사체학을 소개해 드릴 것입니다.
