メタボロミクスは、注目を集める”オミクス”研究の中でも、表現型にもっとも近い代謝物質を総合的に解析する研究として、近年成長著しい分野です。
そこで、萌芽性を持つ諸分野の若手研究者に新規技術であるメタボロミクスを研究に採り入れることを奨励し、新たな領域を切り拓く先導的研究を行う機会を提供します。研究の奨励を通して、科学の発展と次世代の科学を担う人材の育成に寄与することを目的としています。
- 研究対象領域
- メタボロミクスを利用し、当該分野の新たな領域を切り拓く独創的・挑戦的な研究。生命科学・医学・化学・環境科学など、分野は限定しません。
ただし、当社と既に共同研究・受託解析契約を結んでいる研究室からの既存研究の延長とみなされる課題は、本助成の趣旨から外れるため対象外とします。<研究テーマ例>

・他の生命科学系データベースとメタボロミクスの連携による知識抽出
・メタボロミクスを利用した新規アッセイ技術

・細胞を用いたタンパク生産の最適化研究

以上は研究例であり、募集分野を限定するものではありません。自由な発想による応募をお待ちしております。 - 募集対象者
- 2010年4月1日現在、意欲的に研究活動に従事する国内外の大学院生（博士課程および修士課程）。研究科・専攻は問いません。ただし、昨年度の採択者は対象外とします。

- 学識経験者を含むHMTメタボロミクス先導研究助成選考委員会において厳正に一次選考(書類審査)を行います。一次選考審査通過者に対し、事前に連絡の上、電話による15分程度のヒアリングを行います(7月下旬)。
- 選考結果通知
- 申請に対する採否は、8月上旬に応募者全員にメールにて通知します。
- 採択課題等の公開
- 採択した研究課題等については、次の情報について公開します。

FAQ
Q. 副賞のメタボローム解析パックでは、どれくらいの規模の実験が可能ですか？
A.約25検体の分析ができます。25検体なら、例えばN=5で5群の比較(5点での経時変化など)ができます。研究テーマに合わせて検討してください。
採択者には、研究テーマに合わせて実験デザインなどの詳細なコンサルティングを行いますので、実験規模にとらわれず、柔軟な発想で研究テーマをご応募ください。
Q. どんな代謝物質が分析できますか？
A.解糖系・TCA回路に含まれる代謝物質やアミノ酸など、約900代謝物質の分析が可能です。詳細なリストをご希望の方は、下記のフォームよりお問い合わせください。リストをお送りいたします。場合によっては、このリストに含まれない代謝物質の分析も可能です。
Q. 中性物質も分析できますか？
A.はい。前述の約900代謝物質リストには含まれていませんが、LC-MSでの分析により可能です。

- Graduate students, both doctor’s course and master’s course, who are aspiringly engaged in research activities. Any majors and graduate courses is acceptable. Except last winners.

- Projects are initially selected after the application by the selection committee which includes academic experts. Projects that pass the preliminary selection will go to the finals and the applicants will be interviewed shortly over the phone in late July.
- Notices of results
- All applicants are notified of the results by early August via email.
